MORESS - Mapping of Research in European Social Sciences and Humanities
Welcome to the MORESS website.
The project MORESS ("Mapping of Research in European Social Sciences and
Humanities") is an important contribution to the endeavour to establish a European
Research Area in the social sciences and humanities. It has been conceived, organized and
coordinated by the European University Association
(EUA)
with the aim to improve access to information on research in social sciences and
humanities. Through bringing together multiple sources of information in Europe into an
integrated structure, MORESS aims to provide useful tools for interested researchers and
decision-makers, and to enhance the future quality of European research.
The main function is to give access to all users to a catalogue of databases in social
sciences and humanities (SSH). This catalogue was made possible with the participation of
25 partners from different European countries (see
"Partners" in the
menu). In the section,
"European Databases",
you will find different options to search or browse the catalogue of databases. Usage tips
at the bottom of each page will help you in using these tools to attain the desired
databases information.
Beyond developing the catalogue of databases, the MORESS project, funded by the
Directorate-General for Research of the European Commission from April 2003 to September
2005, had the objective to identify strengths and gaps in terms of access to information
from SSH databases in the different participating countries. More information on the
project can be found under the section
"MORESS- The Project".
